The Blue Line Park is a 5-kilometer linear park along Busan’s eastern coast, created through the transformation of a disused railway overlooking the Sea of Japan. The project reconnects the city with its coastline, blending nature, culture, and design. It features pedestrian paths, scenic trains, installations, lighting, and visual identity elements that enrich the visitor experience.
Divided into three stages—from the skyscrapers of Haeundae to the fishing village of Cheongsapo and the beaches of Songjeong—the route includes iconic landmarks like tall yellow totems, sculptural benches, and metal arches forming Mipo Square. Highlights also include the Rainbow Tunnel, where color and light transform the old railway into an immersive, multisensory experience. This redevelopment is part of Busan’s broader strategy to revitalize urban spaces while preserving local heritage.
